I guess as you say that in the end , after all variables are considered, that I have to go for it and try the OU access course.
I really appreciate all your feedback and will continue to look at this site for any help i can get.

Dear Bill,
Its difficult to say. Id say that with the right motivation anyone could pass the access course as by definition its fairly entry level. That said however osteopathic degrees are work intensive and not for the faint-hearted and nobody finds them easy, so you would find it rather more complicated than an OU course but whats stopping ya? its a great fun degree and career! Good luck!!

Hi,

Today I received a letter from BSO following my application to their Access course. There will be a test on Human Biology, an aptitude test, also an English test and a couple more joyful features. I already feel like if I needed wheelchair access as my English is obviously dodgy as I learnt it as an adult but I wonder if the rest is rocket science. Does anybody know anything about these tests on the Evaluation day?

Bee,

Dont worry about the evaluation day for the access course. The "tests" are just for them to see if you have the basic tools to learn new things, rather than to see how much you know already.

There were many successful people on the access course whose second language was english. I would say the interview is the best chance for you to show how much you want to be on the course and why you want to study at the BSO in particular.

Hi, It's me again :D
BSO found a Regional Osteopathic Careers Officer (ROCO) in my area...
Has anyone been to see one? What is it like?
