Sacral Musings

Hi folks, I just wanted to bring people's attention to this thingamybob: http://www.visiblebody.com/

Do y'all think that it's genuine, or will it be a "free for a month - then pay through the nose 'cause you can't live without it anymore?"

All you whizz interwebber people would be better at figuring this one out than me.

Cheers
Roger

The demo on the site looks well cool, and if they deliver everything they are promising for free, it will be a very useful resource. At the moment, there is no product (just video demos). The advertised free version is scheduled for release in mid-October 2007.. so hopefully any day now!

some notes not included on the this most recent release - please disable the google toolbar if you have it on. It has been known to cause the occasional problem. And yes.... it is still and will remain free. Please also read the EULA pertaining to copyright and derivative works.

Great product, just not sure about the lymphatic anatomy, seems to be be missing all the ducts and nodes, just has the spleen, nice one!

Something to consider is that this is still a beta.
This is what I found on the FAQ.
http://www.visiblebody.com/FAQ#14
Theres also a list of missing structures currently in development. The lymphatic system is in the works.

I used VisibleBody today to help figure out the borders of the parietal pleura. It worked great!

any way of getting this on a mac?

The website requires Internet Explorer which is only available for the PC and there no indication of a Mac compatible version in the works. There are magical ways of getting Windows apps to work on a Mac though - check with Dave our resident mac guru!
